I REFER to the letter “When we have to collect mail at post office” (The Star, Oct 10).
I have experienced the same thing a few months ago.
In two separate events, I was left a card by Pos Malaysia asking me to collect a letter from a designated Pos Malaysia.
This really surprised me as Pos Laju should deliver a parcel or letter in the hand of the recipient instead of just leaving a card asking the recipient to collect it.
I can understand if the parcel is big or not convenient to be sent directly to the recipient, but a letter?
The funny thing was, on the card itself, there was a statement stating that the recipient was not at home at the time the postman came. But on both occasions, my mother was at home. In fact, there is a person in the house 24 hours every day.
I hope that Pos Malaysia takes this seriously and looks into it. It should not be difficult to trace the “bad apples”.
