DHL workers across 17 countries are set to stage a week of protest against their employer for allegedly abusing workers rights.
A number of allegations have been made against the company and the trade union that represents them, the UNI Global Union (UNI) and the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) began the protest last week (October 6th).
Workers in Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ethiopia, Germany, the UK, India, Italy, Mali, Mozambique, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Peru, Senegal and Switzerland are all taking part in the week of action.
A DHL spokesman said it was not expecting the protests to cause any disruptions to services. He added: “We think that our workers are treated very well and we think these allegations are wrong. We are in a dialogue with unions UNI and ITF, and in 2009 we presented our strategy 2015, which is designed to increase the level of employee involvement and commitment. In general, we foster a culture of constructive debate within the company between employees and executives.
“We also follow the principals of the United Nations Global Compact and we observe the International Labour Organisation declaration on fundamental principles on the right of work.”

All these people come from the same school of BS management
saying you're doing something is not the same thing as actually making sure it is happening.
PS. Didin't DHL sell their delivery business to HDNL (and we deliver their mail for them)?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
