Postal workers in Jersey have voted to oppose compulsory redundancy and are may take action to fight their corner.
Members of the Jersey Post Communication Workers’ Branch met last night (Tuesday) at the Town Hall.
CWU members at the meeting have endorsed a policy of opposition to compulsory redundancy and will consider taking industrial action in the event that Jersey Post issue compulsory redundancy notices as part of the current cost-saving programme.
Branch chairman David Sloan says they've instructed the local and national officials to immediately meet with Jersey Post management.
Mr Sloan added: 'The CWU Jersey Branch is committed to maintaining full-time jobs for all its members and any proposals that threaten full- time employment will be opposed'.
