Missing Christmas parcels leave Wirral residents frustrated

WITH Christmas just around the corner, more and more of us have been shopping online.

However, missed deliveries and incorrect orders have been impacting residents.

We asked you to share your problems on Facebook, and here’s what our readers said.

Many had issues with tracking parcels online, with Anthony Briggs saying: “UPS marked my parcel as delivered, and the delivery photo was a blurred photo of a large finger.

“Still hunting for the finger – and the parcel.”

Sue McColgan said: “Evri have not delivered two of my parcels in the last four weeks.

“Tracking tells me the parcels were received by Evri but they were never delivered, they are lost.”

Kyla Neil added that her parcel was lost after Evri had it for three days.

She said: “The amount of parcels that get lost within that company is a joke, it needs shutting down.”

People have also had trouble picking up items, with Geoff White saying “Yodel didn’t deliver to the pick up point.

“Been waiting two weeks for a delivery.”

Some have received damaged parcels, with Julie Farrell saying that “some parcels are ripped open and Evri have lost at least four of my parcels.”

Stuart Runham mentioned ‘numerous’ and ‘repeated’ problems with Evri, with “parcels thrown over our fence and damaged, and parcels that have been left in the rain.”

Some residents said they chose to go to the shops rather than order gifts online, with Phillip Alan Rippon saying: “Sitting on a sofa at home purchasing gifts online is not Christmas in my opinion, but I understand why people do as they may not have the time to get out to the shops with working and having children.”

In response, a spokesperson for Evri said: "This is the busiest time of year for parcel deliveries, and our priority is to handle every parcel with care.

"Our 30,000+ couriers are working hard to deliver around 4 million parcels a day, and we know the vast majority of couriers are highly regarded by the communities they deliver to.

“We apologise to anyone who has experienced issues during this time.

"We know how important each parcel is, and anyone who still needs help can get in touch with our dedicated customer service team.”
