Residents told to divert parcels to post offices after Evri issues

POST offices are urging residents to divert parcels to their branches after a surge in social media posts reporting packages being left outdoors or delivered to the wrong address across BH postcodes.

Ferndown Post Office says it has seen “a growing number” of online complaints and is encouraging people to use its role as a local EVRi Parcel Shop.

The branch receives daily parcel drops and stores items securely until customers collect them.

Posting on social media, the post office says the service is open six days a week and can handle parcels “of any size”.

Customers can divert deliveries through the EVRi app, and every redirected parcel “helps support the local Post Office” by boosting footfall and revenue.

The branch added that residents can also redirect deliveries from Royal Mail, Parcelforce and DPD, providing a single, secure collection point for letters and packages.

Customers must bring a collection code or ID to pick up their items. It also remains a safe drop-off point for sending EVRi parcels, with the option to print labels in store.

Boscombe East Post Office has issued a similar appeal, saying it is seeing “lots of posts on social media” about parcels being left outside or placed on the wrong doorstep.

The branch, also an EVRi Parcel Shop, will remain open seven days a week in the run-up to Christmas for collections.

Both branches say diverting parcels to a post office not only reduces the risk of lost deliveries but also helps sustain services at a time when many communities are concerned about branch closures.
