Evri couriers 'removed' from Poole after reports of issues

EVRI has taken action by "removing the couriers in question" in Poole after a surge of complaints about missing and misdelivered parcels.

The courier service said it took an action with its delivery partner in the area to remove the delivery drivers in question and ensure they will no longer be delivering on behalf of Evri.

The move comes after hundreds of residents joined a Facebook group, EVRI Victims Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, to share experiences of parcels marked as delivered but never arriving.

Selina Duckworth, 40, from Poole, said her parcel never arrived despite being marked delivered, while Rachael Hart reported seven parcels left on her doorstep on November 27—only one of which was hers.

Evri has been criticised for its proof-of-delivery system, which often shows a black screen or a photo of a parcel outside a stranger’s home.

As reported previously, Poole MP Neil Duncan-Jordan has written to the CEO of Evri, Martijn de Lange, discussing 'significant parcel delivery issues' that are taking place in the area.

He said: "I’ve heard from many residents about parcels going missing or being delivered to the wrong address by Evri.

"I know that with Christmas coming up, this has caused real stress as people struggle to replace items or cover the costs in time.

"I’ve written to the CEO of Evri asking for urgent action and will continue to raise individual cases on behalf of constituents."

A spokesperson for Evri said: “Following an investigation into this specific incident in Poole, we took immediate action with our delivery partner in the area to remove the couriers in question and ensure they will no longer be delivering on behalf of Evri.

"We apologise to those customers in the area affected by this, and anyone still requiring support can contact our customer services team.”
