Bournemouth MP Tom Hayes slams parcel delivery firm Evri

An MP has called out a parcel delivery company.

Tom Hayes, Bournemouth East representative, has written a letter directly to the CEO of Evri, highlighting the issues faced by local residents in the run-up to Christmas.

According to Mr Hayes, there has been a significant rise in missing, delayed and misdelivered packages.

He criticised Evri’s operational failures, highlighting how parcels are often dumped on doorsteps, left in unsafe locations or delivered to completely wrong addresses.

He highlighted the 'unreliable' proof-of-delivery system, which often showed a 'black screen' or a picture of a parcel outside a stranger’s home.

This, he said, was making people lose all trust in the company.

The MP’s call coincides with reports from local businesses stating they are incurring losses by resending goods or reimbursing customers for packages that never reach their destination.

Constituents also complain that for them, trying to reach Evri's customer service team resulted in 'slow, confusing or unhelpful responses.'

This has left many people feeling stressed, anxious, and wary of retailers that rely on Evri.

He said: "Bournemouth deserves a delivery service it can rely on.

"Evri must fix this now."
