InPost UK installed the first two lockers at Post Office branches last week, in a partnership bringing consumers the option to send, receive and return parcels at their local Post Office even when it is closed.

The installations are in Stanley in Derbyshire and Lanesfield in Wolverhampton, which are the first of several hundred sites that will host InPost lockers as part of the six-month nationwide trial.

According to the partners, the trial not only benefits consumers but also support branches and the communities they serve by generating additional footfall and new revenue opportunities at participating outlets.

Rafał Brzoska, CEO and founder of the InPost Group, commented, “Partnering with the Post Office, a historic institution at the heart of communities across the UK, marks a major step forward in our mission to make parcel delivery easier and more accessible for everyone. The installation of the first lockers at Stanley and Lanesfield Post Offices brings this partnership to life, combining InPost’s innovative locker technology with the Post Office’s national footprint.”

Neil Brocklehurst, CEO at Post Office, added, “We are taking our first step in the locker market with InPost, who have brought forward innovative solutions to enable customers to pick up or send their parcels in a way that is convenient for them and fits in with their daily lives. We will evaluate this trial, and in particular the benefits it has brought to our postmasters and their branches and look forward to working with InPost over the next few months.”

This looks like Spar shop with an onsite PO rather than a PO branch, we've had InPost lockers installed months ago at a similar store/PO set up.

Recently four new ones have appeared in our area, to add to the existing one that's been there a few years, meanwhile no sign of any Royal Mail branded ones that they are talking about introducing.
