DPD announced it would be cutting the rate for smaller parcels by 65p and has axed a £500 Christmas bonus.

A huge Christmas parcel delivery crisis looms - after DPD cuts wages for 10,000 drivers weeks before December 25. DPD announced it would be cutting the rate for smaller parcels by 65p and has axed a £500 Christmas bonus.
One driver told The Sun newpspaer that the changes would cut their yearly earnings by £6,000, reducing their £40,000 income after tax and expenses by 15%.
They said: "It's a disgrace. To wake up at 6am to find out your income is being slashed that same day shows a complete and utter contempt for the people who actually deliver their parcels."
"This isn't just a pay cut, it's a crisis for my family. It means I've lost almost £500 a month overnight."
It comes after the delivery service announced an e-mail wuld be required in DPD Shipper at home delivery and delivery to parcel point or parcel locker.
It said ahead of the ninth month of the year: "Please note: email address required when using DPD Shipper from September 1
"Do you use DPD Shipper to create labels for your parcels? Then we have an important change for you!"
DPD went on and warned: "Starting Monday, September 1, you will need to enter the recipient's email address when creating a label. This change is necessary for home delivery and delivery to parcel point or parcel locker.
"It will help us keep both the shipper and the recipient better informed about the shipment and continue to improve our service."
The delivery service added: "Please note: Without an email address, we will no longer be able to create a label for you in DPD Shipper as of September 1.
