Everyone who buys or sells on Vinted urged to be aware of InPost issue

People who are using InPost and Yodel when sending or receiving items on Vinted have reported noticing ongoing issues with the service, meaning things are arriving late

People buying and selling have been alerted that there is an ongoing issue with some parcels on Vinted, so they should be aware that things may take longer than usual. Normally, the process of dropping things off with InPost is simple. You scan a QR code, a locker opens, you pop the parcel in, close it, and then scan another QR code for a receipt.

Then, usually, in less than a week, the parcel will be ready for the recipient to collect. They'll have 72 hours to pick it up, and then once they've got it, they'll release the funds to you.

However, Sam, who posts on TikTok as @behindthesale, has claimed that there have been some recent issues with the service - and Yodel too.

Sam alleged that there are some "big problems" people need to be aware of.

He said that if you've "bought or sold anything" recently, you've probably realised it's "taking ages" and in many cases, it's "just stuck in a warehouse somewhere".

He said that "InPost have finally acknowledged it," saying that there's a "software integration issue" that's "causing delays at up to 8%" of their "parcel lockers and shops".

They wrote: "The IT issue stems from part of the integration of InPost and Yodel's networks. While there are no issues for most customers, we have encountered a glitch impacting some locations that requires reworking".

Sam also claimed that there were "staffing issues" as well, as someone allegedly told a shopper that "some drivers have walked out over contracts".

He said that this would "explain" why some parcels have just been stuck in warehouses.

Sam said: "I feel like this issue is far more widespread than InPost is saying, because every single parcel I've posted has been stuck in a warehouse for a number of days now."

In the comments, people shared what was going on with their parcels.

One woman wrote: "I had one stuck. Was originally due for delivery September 15, and now it says October 17!"

"My yodel parcel said it was delivered to the shop. Went to collect it, and it’s not there. Would that affect this as well?" someone asked.

Others said that the "same thing" had happened to them.

Another seethed that they were saying "only 8% were being affected," when they thought it was more like "only 8% of parcels being delivered".

A woman fumed: "InPost is an absolute shambles. I live in a remote mountain town that relies heavily on Inpost and Yodel, and there are so many of us waiting on stuff!"

Somebody else said: "It took six days for my parcels to be collected. InPost couldn’t tell me why. Vinted’s clever get out clause was to tell me the carrier has 25 days to deliver. Shambolic".

A spokesperson for InPost said: "We want to apologise to all customers impacted by a software integration issue that resulted in delays within part of our network.

"Since isolating the root cause, our engineers have been working around the clock to put the correct fixes in place, and the additional resource we have deployed means the backlog has significantly decreased.

"With parcels moving fluidly through our network, and all of our lockers now fully operational, we are confident in our progress towards quickly resolving the situation.

"We are very aware of the delays and inconvenience we have caused, and for that we are truly sorry".

Vinted has been contacted for comment.
