Evri replaces courier after man's deliveries 'beyond a joke'

A resident has hit out at delivery firm Evir saying their service is "beyond a joke".

Wade Lander said that his parcels were misdelivered and disregarded in his block of flats in Thornhill.

Doorbell camera footage from a neighbour showed that Wade had two parcels, ordered in his partner's name, delivered to the wrong flat on Tatwin Crescent.

The driver is caught on camera stuffing one in the letterbox and dropping the second parcel onto the floor, leaving them at a "random" apartment and not the address printed on the package.

"If that second parcel was fragile, that's gone," Wade said.

"I’m near enough certain they just think, 'that’ll do' and chuck it anywhere."


Wade said that the double delivery to the wrong door has now led him to reach out to businesses and ask them to send his parcels with anyone but Evri.


On previous occasions, Wade has reached out to delivery couriers and been offered a refund for poor delivery services.

"It’s not about having a refund, we’ve paid for something because we want it.

"You pay a premium for it to be delivered, it’s not like it’s dirt cheap, we pay above the odds because we don’t want to go out and get it."

After speaking out on his two parcels being delivered wrongly, a spokesperson for Evri confirmed to the Echo that a new courier will be appointed for the Tatwin Crescent area.

They said: “Our ambition is for every customer’s experience to be a positive one, and we apologise that this has not been the case on this occasion.

"We are committed to instilling a culture where every parcel matters and encourage those who work with us to treat every parcel like they would for themselves or a family member.

"Having investigated this matter we can confirm that a new courier will now be in place in this location to ensure immediate improvements."
