A delivery firm has opened a new site and invested in electric vehicles in Cornwall.

The Dash Group has opened a new site in Forge Lane, Saltash, and invested in five new electric vehicles.

These will deliver across the TR and PL postcodes.

The owners of Dash Express, a part of The Dash Group and the biggest independent parcel delivery network in the UK, announced the opening of the new site on Wednesday, March 19.

The new site is 8,500 square feet and is one of five sites owned by the group.

The owners say the site will allow them to expand overnight and same-day delivery, pallet distribution, and warehousing services across Cornwall and Devon.

It will also allow the group to grow their vehicle rental business, Dash Drive.

The company say this site is twice as big as the last and there has been continued growth for the group.

They say this growth is thanks to the SMEs in the region as well as the "demand for parcel services across Cornwall".

Dash Group is predicted to turnover £20 million this year.

The group joined the APC network in 2019 and has been growing since.

Paul Dash, operations director at The Dash Group, said: "Since joining The APC network, we’ve seen a growing demand for parcel services, and we’ve had the opportunity to support many fantastic local businesses across the region and expand our SME customer base.

"At Dash Group, we are dedicated to understanding and meeting the evolving needs of our customers and this investment in our new site marks our ongoing commitment to supporting their continued growth."

The group has also invested in five new electric vehicles and has plans to put in EV charging points across their sites.

Jonathan Smith, chief executive at The APC, said: "Across our network, we have and always will be strong believers in championing SMEs across the country.

"The Dash Group’s continued investment into the future of its business and sustainability initiatives is testament to its commitment to strengthening local service, fostering collaborative partnerships and building for the future growth of our customers."

With the new site for delivery, the former site will become the base for their vehicle rental team, Dash Drive.
