Co-op has partnered with parcel locker provider Yeep! to bring further convenience to its stores.

Yeep! parcel lockers will be installed at 30 of the retailer’s sites, designed to meet the evolving needs of busy shoppers and continued growth in consumer demand for safe, secure and convenient parcel lockers.

The first lockers to be trialled will roll out to the retailer’s stores in Bletchley, Wigan Road in Bolton, Bromyard and Kington in Herefordshire, Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway, Edwinstowe, Stanton Hill and Selston in Nottinghamshire, Kidwelly in Carmarthenshire, and Rainhill, with ambitions to grow the number of lockers during 2025.

Co-op head of quick commerce development George Hayworth said: “The parcel lockers form part of Co-op’s approach to develop added services and enhanced convenience – creating a compelling customer offer to ensure our stores are a convenient destination not only for groceries but for a range of services that meet the needs of local communities.

“Helping local residents, commuters and time-pressed consumers pick up or return parcels at a time that suits them, quickly, easily and conveniently.”

Yeep! CEO and co-founder Noel Shapton added: “This partnership allows us to continue our mission of providing eco-friendly, convenient, and secure 24/7 parcel lockers to communities across the UK.”

It follows Co-op’s move to roll out 30 lockers to stores last October with Quadient, as part of its strategy to develop added services and enhance convenience.

The retailer added Quadient’s Parcel Pending network of intelligent lockers to the stores, to be used for deliveries and returns from significant carriers, including Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, and UPS, as well as for services like convenient key drop-offs with Keynest.
