GMB, the trade union for couriers and drivers, has reached an agreement with the online delivery platform Evri that will increase the rates paid to GMB members who provide courier services for Evri.
The agreement, which was confirmed by a ballot of GMB members during November 2023, will mean a rate increase of up to 13%, based on the courier’s average daily earnings and backdated to June 2023
In addition, GMB negotiated the reinstatement of the option for ‘Lifestyle’ category couriers to switch to ‘Self-employed Plus’ (SE+), giving couriers who switch the same benefits of protection and paid holidays enjoyed by SE+ couriers.
Tracy Beeson, Evri representative for GMB’s London region, said, “This is a great result for our members who work hard in very challenging roles for Evri and its customers. This agreement is a testament to what can be achieved when GMB and Evri work together in constructive dialogue, agreeing on positive results for our members and the business.
“GMB is not resting on its laurels, starting next with a campaign to see improved health and safety at delivery units, along with further pay and conditions improvements for 2024-25. It is a good time for couriers to be part of GMB, so we urge all at Evri to take heed and be part of a union that is making positive change for its members.”

Wonder what the going rate is these days presume it's still a payment per parcel, does it also depend on how far from the depot your delivery area is as that would impact on the fuel bill etc.

Re: Evri couriers accept 13% pay increase
Well if you want to work for 60/75pence per parel carry on. The 13% increase is not an hourly raise or salary raise, it's on a per item delivered raise which is white anyway. And these people already are casual workers with no sick pay, holidays, pension ect. This self employed plus crap isn't much better. The sooner this is outlawed the better. Inland revenue is looking at all the delivery models, with people in their own cars ( most don't have buisness insurance) not paying any national insurance or tax on their profits. That's why all these charlitons of delivery companies are agreeing to se+. It lifts the staff just out of self employed status but still not employed status. They cut the amount the paid for each parcel delivered to cover the costs. So this 13% rise is bullshit. Also if they have multiple parcels for one address, they get paid the going rate for the first parcel delivered but about 12p for each other one delivered because your at the same address. Same as the Amazon lockers we see at garage forecourts ect. It's a fxxxxxg scam and a total insult and the GMB shouldn't be bumbing this up as some kind of victory.guardianangel wrote: ↑15 Jan 2024, 21:47How do we join, the cwu sold us out for 10% over 3 years in a cost of living crisis,

You are 100% correct. Some on this forum will do anything to call the CWU. The people who have come out of the Union are only helping Royal Mail's cause, but I think they already know that.
We have people saying if the CWU call a strike, they will continue to work. Are these outsiders or are they employee's who eat Sausage Chips And Beans for breakfast?
We have all took a hit, but the outcome could have been a lot worse. We need to stand by our Union, without them we are on our own.

Hope the increase helps my Evri “courier” to “successfully deliver” my parcels to the door, rather than dumping them in the driveway.
