Launceston residents are set to lose one of their postal services as Evri make local cuts.

Following rumours that Evri may be leaving Launceston and suspending some of their services in the town, the postal company, formally Hermes, has announced that it will be closing some of it’s posting and collecting programmes.

The company has announced that as of August 25, Launceston’s Co-op will no longer offer Evri services.

A company spokesperson told The Post: “The InPost Locker in Launceston is still available for sending and collecting parcels. From the 25 August, Evri ParcelShop services will no longer be available at Co-op.”

With this closure, users of the service will be left having traveling to Callington to use a face-to-face system.

The spokesperson continued: “We currently have around 10,000 ParcelShops and Lockers and 75% of the population are within a 10 minute walk. Evri plans to build on this and increase the number of ParcelShops and Lockers to 15,000 by the end of the year.”
