Whistl's Parcelhub brand has opened a new depot in Leeds to meet demand from West Yorkshire-based ecommerce retailers.
The 11,000 sq ft depot is located on the Confederation Park, Lowfields Road, with access to the M621 and joins Parcelhub's other Yorkshire-based depot located near Sheffield.
The site will initially be operated by 13 employees of whom ten are already working with the company. As the site grows, the operations will generate more job opportunities which will include supervisors, collections drivers and warehouse operators.
Additional investment has been made in electric vehicle charging points for Parcelhub's new Maxus eDeliver 9 electric vans.
Whistl has opened several Parcelhub branded depots in recent years with the latest in September in Smethwick, West Bromwich.
Steve Marjoram, managing director of Parcelhub, said: "We are delighted to be expanding our ability to provide ecommerce retailers in West Yorkshire with a personalised service and local collections and consolidation of their parcel volume through one point of contact.
"These customers will now benefit from our attractive carrier rates which have been secured due to our size and scale."
