£1400 to £0 in 6 months w,would see most companies filing for bankrupcy
I like that RM saw fit to payout £1400 to those with VR just before announcing those still working are getting £0

rofl...Maybe the union should make an offer to buy the business now that our shares are worthless, should get a good deal, might only be worth 2 euro's now for the whole business (or is it a public service already owned by us anyway?)!

So if the company is worthless the ConDems will be giving it away to TNT or DHL.custard wrote:£1400 to £0 in 6 months w,would see most companies filing for bankrupcy

Re: colleague shares SKY NEWS. THE SHARES ARE WORTHLESS
i came out of the union as soon as they agreed for me to "lose a few pounds a week in d2d payments" £1500 a year to be exact!Cybitech wrote:Well in my opinion, the CWU and RM have been in cahoots for a number of years now, with the CWU always bending over and taking it up the tail-pipe from RM. Weel i personally think that the staff should take a stand, and all staff cancel their union subs at once, considering that they have done nothing to help staff over the recent years.
Staff have backed them in all industrial action, lost pay because of them, and for what, so RM can come back and tell us that the phantom shares are exactly that a worthless phantom.
If we all cancel the subs, we'd all be pocketing at least £130 a year, because it seems to be more use in my pocket than it does in their the useless tw*ts.
I will be setting up and online poll to see how many staff agree with me on this one.....
Keep checking back for the link to the poll.
Thanks for reading.

I wonder if the government would let me buy royal mail for a quid? it would be a good deal for them. Or they could put it on ebay. starting price £0.01

Re: colleague shares SKY NEWS. THE SHARES ARE WORTHLESS
A couple of points I would like to make:
A. The prospect of 3.4% payrise next year is simply laughable and completely unaffordable, or so the Comapny will plead with Govt/CWU - expect this to be revised.
B. To suggest a crash from £1600 to 0 in the space of months is at best - incompetance, at worst, fraud/conspiracy to devalue the Comapny in the lead up to Privatisation.
C. 1000 Ops Managers going is a good thing and just goes to show how bloated RM is, (still).

Can't afford CS payments of around £50 million
But extra 3500 redundancy payments no problem.
And not cheap ones too

Re: colleague shares SKY NEWS. THE SHARES ARE WORTHLESS
shares have gone
duties have gone
yet everyone will go in tomorrow, moan do there work and run out the door
so they can do their s/a and overtime later, then have a chat with the guvnor
thats as long as the union rep is not already in the office agreeing and signing off
the revisions.
i just wonder how many union members resign this week
the last 3 years must be the worst our union has
put its members through.
but if we walked out tomorrow on unoffical action would our union back us -- .

Re: colleague shares SKY NEWS. THE SHARES ARE WORTHLESS
Absolutely right that in the current financial position,Royal mail will be unable to fulfill it's promise of next years payrise, however the union already have it as a binding agreement,so i take the unions latest statement that 'there prepared to take whatever steps neccesary to get back on track' to mean effectively allowing RM to renege on this deal,as Fishtank implied earlier.fmrPOSTIE wrote:A couple of points I would like to make:

On point C,i don't know about the managerial headcount, but in my opinion the current establishment are simply not up to the task of transforming the business, whilst i wouldn't wish anyone to be made unemployed, what concerns me more is there is no suggestion of bringing in personel who can turn things round.
