Lets be clear I want to see everyone working the hours they are paid for but with a reasonable and fair workoad in those hours. Im a big fan of a outdoor revison taking place for rural duties as we have 15 FT rurals and they have been 15 FT duties for donkeys years, allways staying at 15 FT duties at every single revsion. Since 2006 Urban duties have permantley lost 3 deliveries, one under pegasus and two under that savings for payrise deal a few years back 2006 was it Where we ended up with £3 a week payrise?
Job and finish went in 2007 we are now in 2010 so how do you still have spare capacity?
Car users, coming in early? We have job and knock for the same reason at our place.
dv you seem to have the hump with daz cause he's clued up,works his nuts off for his members and gets things sorted.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Indeed it did in most offices dvb.
In fact if many posters on this forum are to believed the opposite is now in place.
Many are in fact finishing on their time BEFORE the work is complete.
How many threads include the words "cut off"? :hmmmm
Although job and finish still technically exists i don't personally know anyone who benefits from it because of any spare capacity.
and there is nothing in this agreement that will stop people from coming in early and force people to take their mealbreaks so nothing will change on that front.
Two flyers to a van or one, what is the difference?
Well,a bit of bullying and harrassment may be the difference but of course there will be guidelines to address this. :chuckle
However as with all bullying the hardest part is to come forward in the first place. :hmmmm
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

I don't have the hump with anyone surely it isn't a question of being annoyed with anyone because I happen to feel that there is a disparity between what various people post as their modus operandi and what I consider was agreed in 2007 and which we operate in good faith. I don't want to dwell on personalities I dwell on what they post.

Pegasus took out just one delivery and at the same time PT went from 28 hours to 30 hours, they offset each other to a certain extent.

Longs and shorts, well we introduced L and S (we must all be equal, regardless of any negative effects) however longer days were not needed so urban duties with a Wed or Thursday or Friday off have ended up with a extra 35 mins Wed-Thursday-Friday without having any extra work. Where do you get extra work from unless you reduce staff and therefore increase deliver duty overall workload?

My D.O has recruited FT staff since 2007 and put them on proper permanent contracts

IPS, less letter mail now comes through on IPS, as more letters are now walksorted. This then creates time that has not been filled.

All PT duties prep thier own rounds so there are no FT doing PT prep as well as their own normal IPS- prep- delivery duty.

Absorption; some days we have some days, we dont. We can go weeks at a time with no absorption but then another time do it every day Monday to Friday. All depends on staffing levels.

Phase 3 says where time permits, well time dosent permit on PT duties at my D.O but enough time exists within the FT duties.

Phase 3 also talks about earnings, so on that basis absorption is limited to a maxium of urban delivery duties both of which are right on the doorstep of the D.O, it also does not happen on saturdays and we have people in on overtime.

I look at the signing on sheets most days and I look at the net working day they are scheduled to work and look at what they have actually worked, the two very often do not match and the hours worked are less than scheduled. That means starting on time and taking a break does not eliminate J and F.

And no it isnt "cosy little deals" its reality and luck that we havent lost loads of FT staff and FT staff still form a majority higher than the proosed 75%.

Noooooooooo not yet - if you are going to leave as is your democratic right don't leave before you vote or it weakens your side of the argument. I less voice in 1 camp means 1 more in the other.

And what is this transformation ?? And when is it paid ??

Also, as a nightshift worker, will i lose early shift allowance ??
Do any of my allowances increase ?? or decrease ??

And the 1 hour less working week ?? So will i be going home an hour earlier one day, or 10 mins earlier every day, or is this just taken from meal relief ??

Its all too vague for me, and, certainly for delivery staff, more scope for bullying and harrassment.
The D2D revenue people must be licking their lips now. Sell the product even cheaper, so you could end up with 5 lots a week, with no extra prep time.
Some walks could have 500+ houses, the walk next to him, 700+ houses. For that poor sod, he would be expected to prep between 600 - 1000 more items in the same amount of time. For less money !!!!!!!

You forget the the agreement says duties WILL be adjusted, the right wording is there, its now a matter of getting them actioned.

I dont give a shite how many I get, my duty WILL be adjusted!!!!!
your so wrong, they will do nothing with it, but to make it bigger,,, dont be so nieve please... :no no

All power to your elbow BD and congratulations on a job well done so far. If you manage to get your office revision planned on the basis of 33 D2D's per walk per week please don't forget to share the secret :cool
