Well done to the union and the mediators for a good deal. Shorter working week, 5% + 2% pay rise and a new pension scheme for all.

When you look at what Royal Mail wanted at the beginning of these negotiations this is a cracking deal.

Not likely.
3 months before deployment of change is how I read it but if they have such accurate numbers they must know already.
Perhaps Dingo can give a list of the DO's in each bracket affected by the LAT product.

Interesting to see which DO's are in the 31-45 minute bracket.
I bet mine is. We already have an official finishing time of 3 o'clock and like most offices a significant number of duties are not achievable within the specified time. Of course it doesn't help that our MC dispatches our mail last despite us being much, and I mean much, further from it than anybody else. Some of the offices near it receive their last wagon before ours has even set off on the 90 minute journey.

We've been working at 3pm every Saturday for years now. This will be a welcome to the real world for a lot of offices I'm afraid. Luckily we have also have 15.30 finishes during the week, for the last two revisions, so again we won't be noticing any difference.

As someone ever sceptical of the union, based on past efforts, everything they have achieved I have been impressed by, however the uncertainty is *still* there surrounding pensions. What happens if government regulation isn't changed in the future? Back to square one?

Smart people will know this is a good deal. Not so smart people will read one or two negative comments on here and jump on that particular bandwagon. It's always been the same and does make me chuckle.

Happy with the pay rise and back pay . Pensions hopefully will be sorted sooner rather than later and time will tell if this agreement doesn’t go the same way as past agreements. Times change and we can’t stand still. Those moaning and groaning need to realise that if they stand still then in the long run they will be worse off. Would also like a peak at those offices on the list . Dingo ;)

I'm not the sharpest, so just a couple of questions. I've been working as a postie for 10 years and on a 29 hour contract (although I usually work 36-39 hours).

1. On top of the wage rise, will I also get an extra rise when the full-timers get a reduction in hours?
2. Has there been any agreement with regards to holiday and sick pay being made up to usual hours worked for part-timers?
3. Will we get a new individual pension forecast showing figures on retirement for the new proposed scheme?

Thanks in advance.

Ok in order 1 yes you will get an additional pay rise or around 2.6% for each hour off the working week one in October and one from April 2019 based on a new Delivery Agreement

2. No this is not included in this agreement but is subject to further talks and also eyes are on pending legal cases.

3. yes you will get a pension illustration
