Just what the overtime pool needs, more hungry full-time sharks.
That's the answer.
Seriously though a SWW when the place already runs on overtime. And all the extra packets forecast that won't sort themselves. I'm sure they'll be begging us to work our current start times when this is brought in.

Only joined this forum to see when an announcement was made and it has...and i dont need to make up my mind if its good or bad as you all have chopped it up and ate it.
So reading the majority and its a big OnE the answer is Yes.
But the last vote was a large No and my only concern is a Big Yes would give the Big Guys a massive HARDON and the CWU too.
So at least some of yous that are happy with the Deal still give it a NO so they (them) dont come all over us in the Future.
Thx Mon The Workers.

1scfc wrote:There seems to be endless discussion on pay and shorter working week, part timers but what about the PENSION. Is this deal a smoke screen. If I am correct the NRA has increased now to 67 (2 more years) , a scheme that isn't even agreed by parliament yet. . I think we all need more detail on the breakdown of the pension as a whole.
As well as being the transition setup being unfair pension deal for recent starters many people seem to be glossing over the words
I've highlighted. The Govt. can't make it's mind up what to do about Brexit never mind creating legislation for a whole new type
of pension scheme and getting it through Parliament. Can't see it happening for a couple of years at least.

CWU a series of unacceptable proposals from the company, which included the end of traditional national pay bargaining and the introduction of productivity related pay,
Yahoo Finance The pay rises and cuts in working hours are subject to efficiency initiatives being implemented, Royal Mail said.
The Times John Ralfe, an independent pensions analyst, said: “This deal gives Royal Mail exactly what it wants — the defined-benefit plan is closed and replaced with an annual pension costing 13.6 per cent of salary

“But that is a million miles away from the ‘wage in retirement’ which the CWU promised employees.

“Fundamental details of how a CDC pension will work or be regulated are nowhere near being agreed and, if it happens at all, it won’t be for years.”
THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE

You're wrong unfortunately.
That only relates to trials using data capture.
Once implemented the blind eye will hold the field.

Believe it or not, when I first started 25 years ago the management at my Stalag actually used to turn away from the gates anybody who arrived more than 10 minutes early!....it didn't take that long for them to realise the error of their ways, however.

Raise the early starts and management doing OPG work during revision process and put in disagreement - don't sign anything off until the early starts etc ceases.Never thought it could be done but it has been agreed in various offices I know of but it takes a lot of effort and backing by branch.

Three more years of real term pay cuts and a massive smash and grab on our pensions ,with the door left wide open for future pickings.

Amazing what you can achieve with an 89% vote , what a complete 'cusp'

Err No. I don't work overtime so my wage will be exactly the same when we go to 38\37\36\35 hours. I don't see how it can be dressed up as a pay rise. And if I choose to work an extra hour then it's not a shorter working week is it?
That's correct it's a rise in your hourly rate.

Worse than that. Great deal for RM but the pits for the young and new starts. Good pay but most jobs part time with pension that allows them early retirement option with massive reduction of up to 65% as it stands now.

Can someone explain how the backdated pay effects part timers, if at all? Thanks
