Dear Colleagues,
This is an update on the Peugeot LE2 Electric ‘Zero-Emission’ Vans deployment.

As reported in LTB No. 454/2017 dated 14 August 2017 and my subsequent communication to the ASRs covering the Delivery Offices where the vans are to be located and operated from, 100 Peugeot Partner LE2 Electric Vans will be arriving in 17 Delivery Office locations during the period November/December 2017.

The full details of this initiative are set out in LTB454/17 dated 14th August 2017 (copy attached) and my previous letter all ASRs covering the Delivery Offices listed above where the Peugeot LE2 Vans are to be deployed.

Those communications confirm the full involvement of the ASRs and consultation around the local deployment issues and ongoing monitoring and feedback.

The Health, Safety and Environment Department has discussed with RM Fleet and RM Property & Facilities Solutions the local process for planning and location of charging points at the DOs involved and any associated health and safety considerations and yard risk assessments.

The RM Fleet Planning Management Team, supported by RMP&FS Projects and Programmes Team are dealing with the preparation work presently.

The RM Fleet Technical Team is liaising with Peugeot on Technician training at the affected Fleet Maintenance Workshops. It is due to be delivered in December and Fleet CWU ASRs have been invited.

The RM SHE Road Safety Management Team has commissioned ‘Pertemps’ to develop a training course for drivers. This will cover safe driving, the controls, manoeuvring, charging etc., and should be available from the end of this month. It’s primarily aimed at drivers but the Fleet Technicians will also need to be covered (ASRs will be invited). Driver training will be aligned with delivery of the vans.

Over the past few weeks RM Group Property and Facilities Solutions have been conducting surveys at the proposed DOs /Workshops. Fleet and RMP&FS are finalising the site arrangements. Once this is completed consultation and involvement with ASRs will take place in order to take input from the ASRs on where the charging posts will be best sited at the Offices and Workshops and any related health and safety issues discussed.

ASRs should engage local management proactively to remind operational management of the above.
