Atos and AOD
Does anyone know whether it is Royal Mail procedure after an AOD that results in an absence to refer you to Atos. Also is it Atoss' responsiblility to arrange physio and rehabilitation or is it done by the postpersons own doctor

Isn't it the case with rehabilitation that where Atos believe that an employee's full return from sick absence would be hastened by returning to a modified duty or hours they advise the employee's line manager who then arranges a peroid of lighter duties ie rehabilitation.johnnyp wrote:I have been told that yes after an AOD you are refered to Atos, but its not there responsiblility to arrange physio and rehabilitation thats down to you and your own doctor. Also they are meant to be very helpfull, not that i have experienced them myself, just what ive been told,

I believe they can advise the employee and the management to hastened their return to work by these methods!.Partime hour's, light duties and now the CWU have also agreed new guidelines for the use of electric high capacity trollys where practiable ie no hills and not more than one mile for the office!.faithlilly wrote:Isn't it the case with rehabilitation that where Atos believe that an employee's full return from sick absence would be hastened by returning to a modified duty or hours they advise the employee's line manager who then arranges a peroid of lighter duties ie rehabilitation.johnnyp wrote:I have been told that yes after an AOD you are refered to Atos, but its not there responsiblility to arrange physio and rehabilitation thats down to you and your own doctor. Also they are meant to be very helpfull, not that i have experienced them myself, just what ive been told,

Thanks K9. So rehabilitation is instigated by Atos and not the postpersons own doctor, is that right ?k979aaa wrote:I believe they can advise the employee and the management to hastened their return to work by these methods!.Partime hour's, light duties and now the CWU have also agreed new guidelines for the use of electric high capacity trollys where practiable ie no hills and not more than one mile for the office!.faithlilly wrote:Isn't it the case with rehabilitation that where Atos believe that an employee's full return from sick absence would be hastened by returning to a modified duty or hours they advise the employee's line manager who then arranges a peroid of lighter duties ie rehabilitation.johnnyp wrote:I have been told that yes after an AOD you are refered to Atos, but its not there responsiblility to arrange physio and rehabilitation thats down to you and your own doctor. Also they are meant to be very helpfull, not that i have experienced them myself, just what ive been told,

The DOM will only listen to ATOS if you are of sick for and long period of time you would be encouarged to seek advice through ATOS!. And recomendations of their findings will be sent to the DOM it is upto him to impliment their recomendations to improve your atendance!.faithlilly wrote:Thanks K9. After my OH AOD he wasn't even contacted by his line manager. There was no advice re:Atos, there was no investigation of the accident, no warning that the AOD would be counted towards the Attendance Procedure. The only reason an accident report was filed was because my OH filled one in when he took his doctors certificate in. The Dismissing officer didn't even refer him to Atos before dismissing him. Of course he tried to lie his way out of it and said that he did but had lost the reference number but even the appeals manager agreed that he hadn't. Haven't seen such a stitch-up since Vivienne Westwoods last catwalk show !!!k979aaa wrote:The DOM will only listen to ATOS if you are of sick for and long period of time you would be encouarged to seek advice through ATOS!.
