A CWU/Royal Mail National Joint Working Party is currently reviewing the current policy and procedure, trialling updated procedures and risk management with the aim of introducing a new agreement by the summer of 2010.

Just watched the BBC news item re, Dangerous Dogs etc, including licensing, chips, insurance etc...
Can't see it working myself, as the toe rags who breed dogs as weapons, to fight or use as status symbols aren't exactly the type to register dogs.
( Probably 'cos they can't read/write? LOL! )
Attacks have apparently gone up from something like from 3,000 to 5,000 per annum, according to another source. I can believe it.
Just saw a Dr recently, to be "independantly assessed" after dog attack injuries 18 months ago. First of 4 in 18 months...He's reporting back to CWU/Simpson Millar asap.
Still can't believe Managers comments when I tried to report this first dog attack/chase injuries, which were soft tissue etc. Still suffering today.
MANAGER: "Were you bitten?"
ME: "No."
MANAGER: "Then you weren't injured then!"
You could not make it up...

if there were ONLY 3000 to 5000 dog attacks last year then the bigger problem would seem the many thousands of management attacks,so more effort should be put into solving this problem surely.
