same here, I call it builders syndrome.........builders homes are 'ongoing projects', last thing they want to do is work on there own home. After seeing letters all day the last thing I want to do is come home and open my mail.leiwolf wrote:errr confession time, quite often I don't open my letters, and most are in boxes cupboards or bin, esp bills

Or save it to a flash drive and get someone else to print it off.brothermagrew wrote:leiwolfleiwolf wrote:Where can I order a copy of this leaflet, as my printer doesn't work
As you are on this forum then you obviously have a computer save it to your hard drive as a pdf file for future reference, and if need be print it off at a later date when you get your printer fixed.

any financial reward in becoming a h and s rep?
only reason i ask is that we have a coach at work who gets 30 quid a week but never trains any bugger.
and i see h and s as being more important than teachin someone how to put stickers on dead mail.

Nope.
H&S Rep is a Union position not a RM one and although is normally an elected position it is entirely voluntary and unpaid. Although if you have to attend meetings or travel in relation to your Union position you will receive various allowances. Also when carrying out Union H&S tasks on site or for your Unit you will sometimes be "released" by your manager but still receive pay.

and i see h and s as being more important than teachin someone how to put stickers on dead mail. Its the full monty of showing a new entrant the ins and outs of our job from weighing bags and trolleys to filling out 739s correctley, encouraging them to join the CWU and all aspects of Health and Safety etc. They can also be used to train existing staff on various bits and bobs(PDAs)and help the Dom to update IPS overheads etc.
i know it does, and im sure a lot of coaches do a great job.
our doesnt thats all. money for nothing.
