Pension statements

Post by Belgium »

Just received my RMPP pension statement, I am in receipt of my NRA60 pension so the statement only covers my NRA65 which I have not yet taken.
Last year my cash balance was £29800 on my new statement the cash balance is £1900.
So I call up the helpline and query the amounts chap on the other end of the call says he can’t see a mistake 😳 I explain that £28000 is missing he says that does seem a lot but is adamant there hasn’t been a mistake, he finally agreed to query it with the data team and left it at that

Not taken any pension yet. Recently received my first statement from RMPP as a deferred member. In February 25, cash balance £29734. On this latest statement £29,357. I also called RMPP. No help. Sent an email query.

I'm in a similar position. I'm deferred and my annual statement says the cash balance is £0.

I phoned up and the person said I'd transferred out – which I haven't! :arrrghhh

It sounds like someone's f****d up!
Par for the course for the PSC, in my experience. :thumbdown

That's awful. We've now got to get information from a company that is useless.

Can I ask what the cash balance actually is and means?

Is that money a final lump sum ?

The pension changed in 2018 to accrue a cash amount (DBCBS). To be taken at age 65, but can be taken early at a reduced amount. It is shown on the pension statement from RMPP.

What is concerning is how many mistakes do they make (RMPP/RMSPS etc) that we do not know about.
I have to hope my pension statements are correct and accurate - how many are not and never get checked.
The majority of posties do not check or understand our pensions (of which i am one).

Robert did you get anywhere with your missing cash balance, I’ve made a couple of phone calls and sent an email, no response as of yet to the email and both phone calls were met with a sorry can’t help attitude

Not yet, but I intend to phone again soon to see what's going on.
If I don't get an acceptable answer, I'll be making a fuss!

FAO Robert
Hi Robert reply from RMPP today

I can confirm that your most up to date statement is incorrect. A clerical error has led to the fund being shown as much lower than it should have been. This has been raised with the process team, who will investigate the error to determine its cause and how to prevent it from happening again. We apologise for the error.

A new statement has been posted out to your home address today, and you should expect to receive it before the end of the week.

That's good news. I received my reply stating the cash balance does reduce in value. I've queried the reply.
