Why have I suddenly fallen out of pse?
Just checked my wages for last week and all my deductions are on the right hand side of the payslip so fallen out of pse somehow? I've changed nothing. Had a weeks leave last week but that doesn't normally affect my deductions.

Rmcpp dc avc
These are my usual deductions that should appear on the left. Anyone else had this?

so what's the difference between the left and right side, I've had deductions on both sides before, I didn't know there was a difference so pad no attention to it, and what does pse mean?

This is the CWU's explanation when PSE was first introduced about 10 years ago:fadetogrey63 wrote: ↑10 Sep 2025, 08:57so what's the difference between the left and right side, I've had deductions on both sides before, I didn't know there was a difference so pad no attention to it, and what does pse mean?

It's a bit out of date, but the basics still apply.
If your pension contributions, plus some others like cycle to work, are on the left hand side of your payslip you're benefitting from PSE. If they're on the right, you're not.
Links to all RM pension related websites are here

Mine on the wrong side this week also, so maybe a business wide issue.
Not sure exactly but take home pay seems reduced

Interesting, my Royal Mail pension deductions have always been on the right, so I'm losing out.. Is this PSE something I need to apply for from Royal Mail? Thanks for the info

The link Robert included has loads of relevant information.
In short, you pay less national insurance and take home pay increases if pse is in payments side of payslip.

Mine too. I do pay AVCs (6%) + Lump Sum booster. I believe the minimum wage just went up again. Quick question, has anybody fallen out of OSE who doesn't pay AVCs? Tia

Re: Why have I suddenly fallen out of pse?
Well just checked my wages this week and it's still showing on the wrong side of my payslip. Was hoping it was going to be a one off. Do I need to drop my avc contributions to less than the 8% I've been paying since last Nov? Anyone know how to contact these jokers now as I'm guessing you can't ring the wages line like we used to in the old days.

Just spoke to wages and they didn't seem to have a clear answer but he said it should be showing on the right hand side which isn't correct. All I can do is to reduce my avc contribution.a little lower and see if that makes a difference. No point paying extra into my avc if I'm losing money falling out of pse. I'll drop it to 7% and see.

Re: Why have I suddenly fallen out of pse?
This happened to me too. I spoke to a nice lady at HR who couldn’t understand the reason for the change. She referred the matter on to pensions. I received a generic response to which I complained about.
I then received a more informed response, advising the reason that week 23 PSP was changed to reflect a 39 hour week instead of a 37 hour week. This is in relation to seasonal variation. I advised them that this had been suspended for 2025.
Apparently managers can change your personal contractual hours on PSP to reflect non-seasonal hours.
The only other option was to adjust your AVC’s to a lower amount reflecting a 39 hour week.
I have done this, reducing my AVC to £42.95 which should keep me within PSE.
Obviously I will need to re-adjust the amount following our pay rise due next week.
