Just looking for a bit of help here……I know someone who is starting at RM next week and amongst all the the stuff they’ve received is as a 4 page document referring to pensions.
As a new starter they are enrolled into Nest for the the first 12 months after which their account with them is closed and they are then enrolled into the RM pension scheme.
They do have the option of opting out of Nest so my question to those in the know is if they do opt out of Nest can they still be enrolled into the RM scheme when they’ve completed 12 months service or do they have to partake in the Nest scheme first.

Re: New Starter & Nest
My understanding is new starters need 12+ months RM service before they're enrolled into the RMCPP, regardless of whether they've been in Nest during that time.
The literature in the Collective Plan Handbook(on the RMCPP website) and links via this site, seems to suggest that. But perhaps an email to the bods at the RMCPP might clarify.
