Chris Webbs pension expert sounded to me like he knew nothing about the fine details around the new CDC pension plan , is anyone any wiser ?

He's a trustee of the RMPP and has no connection with the RMCPP.

I didn't know this CWU Live event was happening, but have watched it this morning, and I have to say I think he knows his stuff, but doesn't seem particularly good at communicating it to the layman.

Someone asked how they worked out 1% of pensionable pay for the cost of the lump sum booster. All he had to say was divide pensionable pay by 100.
Although factoring tax relief and PSE, that 1% is effectively 0.72% net.

The RMCPP website provides lots of info and is the best place to go to find out more.

If they wanted to talk more about the new scheme, perhaps they should have invited a trustee of that instead?

I have no interest in joining it as I’m hoping to leave in April 2025 . For what I’ve read you have join in one way or the other. Correct me if I’m wrong if you don’t join they enrol to a nest scheme

My understanding is you are auto enrolled but you can register not to join then you will be enrolled in nest, However, you can then leave that too so not be in any scheme.
