taking ALL pensions at 55

Going by this thread in October 2025, NorthernBoy has stopped work.

Presumably his £2k per month is a mixture of pension income and dipping into lump sums and savings?
Fairly similar to me, although my pension is from a SIPP.

Hi all,

No my 2k a month income is not from RM pension…if only it was! It’s a mixture of RM/SIPP/savings.

For me the best thing about being retired is simply that you do what you want when you want and you’re not answering to anyone. Personally I’m not into to all this ‘bucket list / stuff to do before you die’ agenda. I get that some people are but it’s not for me.

When people say “what do you do all day….i love replying absolutely nothing” I’m think my reply winds people up as they expect you to be busy doing xyz. Try it on the next person that asks you and watch their response, it’s great.

How’s are others getting on in their retirement.

I took my pension too.. I still work for the company.. at the mo.
Hence my comments as to what's happening to delivery..its doing my head in.. now it's a private company...

I could leave. But I'm scared to... as im institutionised...
Plus the new pension.. looks good.. and I think I need a few more years in it.. to maybe retire after 60...
And not run out of money.. lump sums..

The new pension is a new pension. It's like starting in a new job. Many wont get the years in. And it's even later than the others. Watering down, kicking the can down the road. Call it what you want. Shafted, is what I call it. Taking it early will cost you, so that isn't really a good idea.
