Ill health retirement

Post by Martinleam »

So I've been off for 5 months nearly and I had my 100 day review today. Because I can't give them a specific day that I'm coming back they're putting me forward for ill health retirement. I've been there 5yrs and I'm only 36. If they try to get rid of me what money can I expect? I'd rather a lump sum with pension but I don't know how much I'd get?

I think you are entitled to 34 weeks basic money plus any holiday owed to you. If you are going to make a recovery you can turn it down. Hope this helps

You will get 34 weeks lump sum, 5weeks lieu of notice and holiday pay, the lieu of notice and holiday pay is now taxed, the tax law changed this year, I know this because I was IHR last April.
