DO Walk OPG`s

Post by Zorro »

Saw a postie out on walks and he was stood chatting to an elderly lady.

Just stood there! Bold as brass!

I mean, for fooks sake. He wasnt doing anything! Not working or any work related stuff.

Just chatting!

These walk posties have it sooooo easy!

Zorro your point is?

Most delveries are a little at the least stretched for time, 330hr walks with anything upto 5-6 pouches of mail.

What is the guy supposed to do walk past ignore the elderly lady, I really am not sure what your point is?

I take it from your stance that you are a mail centre worker, I just hope with the flexibility clauses rolling out you dont find your self walking the beat you may then make a snarred remark on what your colleagues get upto in delivery.

If you have been in the job long enough for your badge or ID card to be dry then you would realise that in delivery over the years it has always been the most pysical and lowest paid part of the buisness.

Its just a little sad that you have to remark on a colleague in the way you suggest, there has never been a better reason to look out for each other with this aggreement going through. We now need the support of each other otherwise the weak ones amounst us will be picked upon.

Regards Zorro or SNIPER would have been more adapt.

i hear ya zorro,i mean,i had to park my car at least 40 metres from my office, and on that, looooong walk,i too,was swathed in guilt, that, now being on p/o property that minute walk could of been put to good use,i dunno,a brush up my arse to sweep the car park,a mobile letter fitting to start sorting in,perhaps tip a bag or two into an alt that was convienently left in the carpark for said purpose.come on turpin, lighten up man, ever heard tongue in cheek? (it was tongue in cheek zorro, was`nt it ?) lol

Try doing a walk for 5 days a week!!!!This is what is wrong with the business and an attitude like that, not to give a **** about customer service!!!!

Sadly MACHMAN no I dont think it was Tounge and Cheek just another 5min man who feels Royal Mail revolves around the mail centre, Zorro proabably does not know what a walking man has to endure in days duty.

Start at 0600 finish at 1400 all weathers with a piddly little 20 min tea break to get you through 4 hours of heavy mail bag lugging, instead he is to wrapped up in his or her cozy little life in a centre. Im not going to judge as I have little knowledge of life in a mail centre so it would be unfair to cast my opinion.

Regards Turpin (On The Beat And Working To The Book) that way there is no room for dissapointment

This must have been a wide up and it got some bites as well.

If it was not a wind up he would have used this smiley :no no instead of this one :speak to the hand.

Good laugh though. :Applause :Very Happy :Applause :Very Happy :Applause

I'm thinkin this is a follow on from the 'Intergrated Mail Processor Operators!' thread in here :left:
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Yeah me too. He's probably one of those lazy IMP Ops lolling around drinking tea and eating crisps - typical. Some poor OAP looking for a little comfort and words of kindness provided by one of those stalwarts of the kerbside dining who is then berated by one of those mech centre morons who wouldn't be able to handle a conversation that didn't involve McDonalds, Golden Wonder and Typhoo. :no no :angel

erm zorro I dont mean to be rude but what would you expect that postie to do just walk passed the old lady and not speak? maybe they dont have anyone else to talk to and elderly ladies they are always happy to see there friendly postman its bring as smile to there faces, and if you are a postal worker you should for sure re read the add of your job title and what it intails as the words you are looking for is CUSTOMER SERVICE so dont have a go at the postman as it is part of his jobs speaking to people and delivering there mail within the community and so what if he wasnt working for a split second get a life and dont give posties a hard time .

Perhaps if the mail centre staff actually sorted rather than going out for fag breaks and coffee breaks we could get the mail earlier and not start later.

Bet its nice sat in the warm for 8 hours

Anyway there will always be deliveries where as Mailcenter sorting mmm think your times are coming to a end soon pal
