Jubilee mail centre recently received a WCM Bronze award for the improvements it has implemented across the unit.
Better planning and a change in the floor layout has improved efficiency.
‘It’s been all about planning and strategy,’ says logistics pillar lead Dave Solman. ‘We’ve made changes that have led to more efficiency and improved safety in the unit’
Plant manager Tim Mayes adds: ‘We couldn’t have done it without everyone. Working together, we’ve uncovered some great talent within the mail centre.’
As a result of the improvements, the unit increased its audit points from 48 to 51, earning it the Bronze award.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Trust me,it doesn't really mean anything except a bonus for the Managers. If it did mean something, the Managers wouldn't get about a two week warning that an inspection was coming up. I wonder what would happen if the auditors just turned up unannounced.

Thought WCM had died a death, not heard a murmur of it, thankfully, for over a year in our office. Anyway Jubilee, well done chaps. I'm sure you are all very proud!

My office is under JMC.
The amount of missorts now being received into my DO on a daily basis from JMC is beyond rediculous.
We used to average about 6 trays of letters and about 2 sacks of packets.
It's now about a full sleeved york and as much as 2 full yorks of trays per day.
Glad to know that JMC have won an award for their superb efficiency

It probably is efficient in the eyes of shareholders, get it out of the door, anywhere so long as it's out of there. It's not like us in delivery don't have enough to do, we could be a lot more efficient if we didn't have to waste so much time dealing with all these missorts from the MC's.Mezza wrote:My office is under JMC.

Exactly.
When you get the odd few letters in a tray i think it's fair enough with the volumes we handle.
But when you get tied bundle after tied bundle of magazines - all clearly labelled and/or addressed.
I had over 20 trays of missorted magazines the other day.
Officially i' supposed to make sure their sorted into Other Areas, Local, etc - yeah right - load 'em up and send 'em all back from where they came from.
Same with packets - i sling them all in a sleeved york and let JMC have another go.
