Cutting post boxes?
Does anyone know what is going to happen with the Collection drivers when they lose most of their boxes to Deliveries in September? Thanks

I can't see them cutting jobs but they may have to do delivery work too.

I guess they'll most likely align duties with the workload i.e. later starts, or put additional duty content into the gaps. God knows where they'd GET that content from though.

I think the losers will be the offices who have collection duties as S/A or O/T. I think it's going to affect the rural areas mainly

Re: Cutting post boxes?
This is the thing, where is other work going to be found? I don't believe Royal Mail would go to all this trouble just so a few collection drivers can do a bit of work in a mail centre or delivery office somewhere. They have to be looking to reduce the head count, otherwise what is the point in moving boxes to deliveries?stewiegriffin wrote:I guess they'll most likely align duties with the workload i.e. later starts, or put additional duty content into the gaps. Re: Cutting post boxes?
The collection drivers based at MCs will be ok but in DOs where there is SA or OT attached they'll just cut it for the fulltimers lots of delivery offices are having problems with overtime re walks and cut-off since they've gone into the new revisions. Strangely no response from Bob Gibson and Dave Ward on this as of yet.
