Heathrow Worldwide distribution centre is our first location to gain silver WCM accreditation.
And now the centre is going for gold!
It needed to gain 60 points in its WCM audit to gain silver WCM accreditation, however HWDC scored an impressive 63.
WCM champion Dan Tovey says: ‘WCM is making clear improvements across the site.
Great achievement
‘Achieving the silver award shows how we’ve used WCM tools and put countermeasures in place to eradicate defects.
‘This is a great achievement for us all. We were delighted to have 43 different presenters across the two days, showing all we’ve achieved in WCM.’
Plant manager Mike Sibley adds: ‘We began our WCM journey in 2010 and obtained our bronze award in October 2012, achieving 52 points. Our plan was to go for the silver award in November 2014, but the success of our improvements across the site encouraged us to take the challenge in June instead.
‘I’m proud that we’re the first Royal Mail site to achieve silver status. Now we’re aiming for gold in 2016/17, which requires 70 points.’
