Truro mail centre is particularly delighted with its WCM Bronze award, as it is the first site to be awarded four points for the motivation of operators.
It scored 51 points in its audit (mail centres need 50 or more points across a range of WCM pillars and management criteria to earn a Bronze).
Focused Improvement pillar lead Steve Leverton says: ‘WCM has enabled us to improve efficiency in our inward parcels area, resulting in a £36,000-per-year saving.’
Discovering skills
Steve adds: ‘We are delighted that our fantastic staff engagement has been recognised and has helped us achieve our Bronze award.
‘When we began our WCM journey, we discovered people with skills we’d never been aware of before. Half of our pillar leads are frontline people and they’ve shown great ability and drive to help us achieve this award.’
Postman and workplace coach Dave Gill says: ‘We’re encouraging everyone to be aware of their impact on the environment every day. Reducing our carbon impact and the costs of waste disposal make a difference to the business, and we were pleased to contribute three points to Truro achieving the Bronze award.’

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

How much money was spent to achieve this?
