Transfer to mail centre

Anyone out there transferred from deliveries to a mail centre or another area of Royal Mail, if so how did you go about it. Hoping to change my hours to coincide with other commitments.

Well I,ve just realised why no one has replied, because no one ever has or is likely to. I,ve been looking on the royal mail job search for some time now and not once has any mail centre jobs come up. The only jobs available are through an agency. Just think how much royal mail would save getting rid of all the mail centres within the next three years, plus not paying the workers their shares. Changed my mind I think I,ll stay where I am.

Guy from our DO who is near retirement opted to transfer to local mail centre instead of taking a IHR leaving package.
Said it was nearest thing to CWU convalescence home; climate controlled work areas, subsidised meals, play room and no hassle to work over your time.
Took the weight off his back, relieved his worn knees, hips and feet. He loves it.

Several such colleagues refer to such a transfer as semi retirement!
