Re: Emails at breaking point Horizon question
He sent a question to a group address that contained over 33,000 names. It's the people replying to ask to be taken off the list because the question means nothing to them that is causing the problem. And now we have people sending e-mails telling other people not to reply to the e-mails as well. If 10% of the people on the original list respond that will generate about 110 million individual e-mails!

Our manager received over 200 of these e-mails. He struggled to delete them, and guess what, as soon as they went another 200 dropped in! LOL
All those senior managers with blackberries were probably awake all night with constant pinging.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha
It's Christmas.

Is it this...
https://www.myroyalmail.com/news/2013/1 ... d-messages" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
As many of you will be aware, last night an email was sent mistakenly to a large number of colleagues regarding Horizon Packets.
Please do not reply to any email relating to this original message.
To delete the email chain:
1. Find the original email in your inbox sent at 23:29 last night by david.x.harris @royalmail.com
2. Right-click on the email
3. Select 'ignore'
4. A dialogue box will then appear confirming that: ‘The selected conversation and all future messages will be moved to the Deleted Items folder.’
5. Select ‘Ignore Conversation’
This should delete all emails in the specific chain.
You may have to repeat the process for related email chains.
Please do not reply to any email relating to this original message.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Emails at breaking point Horizon question
I feel sorry for the man who started it all, it was an innocent email sent to the wrong address. It was all other idiots who replied that caused all the problems. I think there will be a fair few conduct cases after this. People were emailing inappropriate pictures and comments. One person even sent an mp3 song to everyone. I think there were about 700 emails in the end.

Re: Emails at breaking point Horizon question
The bloke who sent it only sent 1 email to 33k people if everyone had just deleted it or only replied to the sender not reply to all it wouldnt have been noticed.its the stupid people asking to be taken off a list which is impossible to be taken off that caused the problem. And the fact they keep changing the name of the email which means u have to ignore that email as well.there has been a few good replies though.

Re: Emails at breaking point Horizon question
Why didn't the IT staff wherever they're based just delete the email from the server and any replies to it in the first place?
