In the last dispute 2009, our Lino gathered us together and said that because we were on strike the day previous we had breached our contract of employment which allowed him to determine when we had our meal reliefs.
Can anyone tell me if this correct ?

Yes and No - is my opinion.

Yes - you broke your contract of employment, but no that's not the reason he can tell you when you should have your meal reliefs. In law they can do that already as long as it follows certain rules, and fits in with all national agreements. Of course there is always the "Custom and Practice" argument - it means "this is the way its usually done".
