It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: east london mail centre
Is it something to do with World Class Mail?
2 of the manager's favourites are given the task of each holding one end of the line.
This in turn means other people don't have to hold the line, freeing them up to perform machine-cleaning duties that were once the preserve of other people.
2 people out of a job.
2 brown-nosers with WCM jobs.
Company saves a fortune.
The Japanese professor awards them a bronze medal.*
Win. Win. Win. Win.
*Is it likely we will see an outbreak of bronze postboxes, painted by WCM aficionados to recognise their own self-worth?

Never let the hand you hold, hold you down.

Re: east london mail centre
Everyone in East London on processing will either have the opportunity to go to Romford where the East London inward work goes or too the Mount.
Professional Drivers will be able to go to either E1 inward hub where there are 16 duties , Romford where there are 55 duties , the Mount where there are 9 duties or sign for either a professional duty in Greenford , Croydon or perform a collection job in East London until there is a vacancy for them in their the place they want to go.
There was a joint statement reached on Thursday night which further sercures come safeguards for East London staff when East London closes.
I understand the Area reps will be meetin the members on weds to update them.

No doubt, AFTER they have sorted their own (and mates) cushy little jobs out..... IF it's anything like our MC....dingo wrote:I understand the Area reps will be meetin the members on weds to update them.
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.
You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Re: east london mail centre
Holding the line is to go with the union and not to do things on your own as some people have come unstuck in there choice.
As they lost faith or trust with the union.
Or jumping ship to what ever came forward to them.
Drivers have still not got dutys set yet as no one knows what is vacant any where or duty times ect.
But i understand talks are underway at present and hope we will be informed this week.
We are not putting up a fight to keep open its is just our job security which needs to be sorted and that is it.
As many people are away this month due to hoildays. It is hard for the union to sort every one out.
We have untill the 17th september 2012 then the mail centre is closed.
Yes we want this to be sorted as soon as possible so we can alter our lives out on any new times in shifts and area we go to.
Normally this in othier mail centres has been done way inadvance
but some how and why it is being done in drips and drabs
