Re: bristol mc moving?
There's a thread that mentions it somewhere, I think it is something about Rolls Royce wanting to close the airfield where Bristol MC is.

Re: bristol mc moving?
Rumours at Bristol are its moving to Portbury outside Bristol, people are coming from Gloucester MC to Bristol (that one about two years ago and of course it never happened) and Bristol is being closed and the work going to Swindon and Cardiff MC's. All rumours due to there being no information yet on MC's in the South West Region of Royal Mail. I dont think they have yet decided themselves and may leave it a long time until all the other MC changes are completed across UK, and the privatisation. However managers keep coming here from other areas for new jobs and pointless world class mail keeps burning money so it looks like its somewhere they want to invest in for the future. But someone may say your management team are a joke and why do the staff always vote overwhelmingly to strike because of it.

Re: bristol mc moving?
Bristol is a big MC and even if it's moved it's very unlikely there would not be a MC there. Gloucester was up for closure several years ago before Oxford took it's place. Gloucester is unlikely to survive and could go to Thames Valley or Bristol depending on capacity. The rest of the SW region is difficult to predict. Exeter seems safe with it's 3 iLSMs. Difficult to see Truro being closed due to it's location. Could Plymouth go into Exeter?
Not sure about Poole/Southampton/Portsmouth. Poole has iLSMs but a recent thread says Portsmouth is getting two and if this is correct the MC must be safe. Due to their cost iLSMs are only going to MCs with a long term future.
