Waiting List?

Post by Turbo2212 »

Hi everyone

I applied for a job as a postman recently in Keighley. I passed all the online tests and was told at the end of my interview I gave some great answers and was successful. They mentioned although I might not get the role I applied for they should be able to find something else for me. I received an email 2 days later (7th Sept interview date) stating that I was successful with the process but didn't get the role and there wasn't any more vacancies in the area at present. I'm a bit unsure what to do... Do I wait?

Thank you.

i would keep an eye out for vacancies in your area ..and if any come up ring them ..when i first joined i was offered a job quite a bit away from where i lived ..so said i would wait till the local office had a vacancy ..a few months later i saw there were vacancies there ..but they had not contacted me ..so i rang ..and got accepted ..you could end up waiting for ever otherwise .ps i think on the royal mail website .you can get e mail alerts when vacancies appear

That's if they don't go and SHUT your local office!!!!
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

I got put on the waiting list aswell.

Basically mate just keep checking on the Royal Mail website for job vacancies in your area, or sign up to email alerts, and then when one opens up send them an email straight away saying you are on the waiting list and you want the job.

I got put on the waiting list but then i got lucky an job opened up nearby so I emailed them straight away. Got a phonecall the next day saying I got the job.

Make sure you keep updated on any openings though because I think it might be a first come first serve kind of thing! I was literally checking the website like every couple of hours.
