Royal Mail changes in Southend
As part of our operational modernisation, mail collected in the SS11 postcode area from Monday 28 February, will be processed at our Chelmsford Mail Centre.
If you currently receive a business collection,there should be no change to your existing collection arrangements or driver.
This change will not affect mail deliveries, which will continue to operate from our premises in Short Street.
Recipients of this mail,however, may now notice a Chelmsford postmark on mail collected from Southend.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

I feel that could probably just be the start with other SS codes to follow,leaving Southend just being a delivery office.
