holidays

Post by themaninaredvan »

I work in staffs and we've been told we can't have our holidays from last year and have to roll them over,we now have to book all 4weeks and they have to be Mon to sat and no single days.this will stop me having long weekend end holidays and will involve swapping days off with fellow workers if a day is needed.we have been given 2 week to book our holidays,is this legal as it affects family life and holiday bookings.myself and everyone I work with r disgusted but the union don't seem to care and have just accepted it

Were you after 20 Saturdays or 10 Saturdays and Mondays for the year?

We have always had a policy that you have to take your first 4 weeks in Mon-Sat blocks,in fact in the old days  you had to take your first two in one block....this was designed to stop people screwing it up for others by bagging all the weekends and splitting the summer weeks.
If that was your intention then i'm not surprised it's been stopped.

Can't beat my 2 weeks in June and a week in November...

When I ASKED for 2 weeks in August!!
And after a while, you can work on points for style,
Like the club tie, and the firm handshake,
A certain look in the eye and an easy smile.

You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to,
So that when they turn their backs on you,
You'll get the chance to put the knife in.

Booking any single days is like finding hens teeth in my office, even the ones owed are hard to get, so it seems that you're just getting what the rest of us have been getting for some time now.

Just wait until they take your 1 hour break off you

Tories in government again, unemployment up to two and a half million, you should be thankful you've got a job, and holidays are a luxury you should be grateful for in any cold, dark month of the year they're offered. and it's only going to get worse.
