bullying and harrasment by managers

reading all the posts on this site is a bit grim when all you see are comments about bullying managers,so i was wondering if there is an office where this sort of thing DOES NOT happen?

Yes in mine,I won't give the exact location just suffice to say it is in Hampshire.We have a great DOM who will ask but not force any request and he generally gets a good response (maybe being an ex postie himself has helped).

It's the people above him that causes most of the hassle.

when the managers get a telling off & are told to save hours believe me they bully, harass & everything else to get the walks, absorption,&everything else done to with no overtime & anything that will save money! they make the rules up as they go along, pure tossers.

as anyone noticed how when you get a new dim they start of nice and understanding and then 2 months later they turn into a bully

I believe it probably starts at the top and just filters down. Don't often feel any sympathy for the DIM but I sometimes get the impression that he's getting a lot of Crap being dumped on him from above.
I don't know why they keep quiet about it. Makes everyone feel they're responsible for all the stupid ideas when we know they've got their hands tied over certain things such as recruiting and office budgets.
If I was the DIM in WTL I'm sure I'd say, "It's out of my hands...I've been instucted to tell you.. It's come down from above..etc" perhaps they're sworn to secrecy?
