hi can anyone tell me if i will be able to claim a speeding fine back.unknown to me my unit has received a speeding ticket while in a 600 saying i was doing 41.
is there such a thing as a drivers protection fund or is this not available anymore.

I think there used to be a drivers fund but if you didn't pay into it you weren't a member, 50p a week seems to ring a bell.

Oh and I'd be more worried about the points than the fine.

For example, collections are done in rush hour traffic and they have to be done at specific times. Even more stupid, you cannot do them too early - probably the fault of unscrupulous drivers in the past. There are more and more companies having collections and that puts even more pressure.

Managers turn a blind eye to a lot of malpractices as long as the job is done. But they will admit they know things are wrong and will definitely not defend you if you get in trouble.

There are managers that allow postie to drive and collect even though the postie is banned??? Mad!

Yes, but those problems are what managers are paid more money to resolve.
Me, it's 30mph and I do what I can in the time, then decide whether or not to do a bit of overtime.

Then it fails, there is nothing that says that you have to break the law to get your job done. It's up to the manager to manage it, not you.

No, I just have driving duties which should be completed by 3pm. Often though this would not be possible without speeding, which I don't do, so I cut off or claim docket in which case it is queried and I explain the situation - no problem for me, no problem for the manager who has to accept that he can't expect the impossible and certainly no problem for other road users.

BTW, I am not suggesting anyone should break the speed limit to do their job. In fact, the reason I gave up on Collection (different from just a driving duty) is that I did not want to break the speed limit or get into road rages just to do my job.

But a lot of postmen do!
