Nephew's Question

Post by pengelm01 »

My Nephew has asked me a question for his school work and thought this would be the ideal place to ask.

What is the process when mail is collected from a post box / post office.

i'm looking for the entire journey including processes in mail centre etc

Also he has asked why RM still sell 2nd class stamps, even though i said delivery time, he then turned to me and asked, so do they just sit in a mail centre for a few days before sorting??

Hope sonebody can help

Thanks

Matt

p.s. sorry if in the wrong place

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

and here's a good one ; http://www.britishpathe.com/record.php?id=74978" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and you'll soon realise that Royal Mail's modernisation is a bit behind schedule in the South-west where I'm from, but I have been told my van will soon be replaced. :Very Happy Royal Mail will always say that 2nd class mail is not deliberately delayed, but the introducion of two classes in 1969 was so that, with time and capacity restraints, more urgent mail could be prioritised. Now though only about 10% of mail has stamps ( 1st or 2nd ) on it, bulk mailing being of three classes ( 1, 2, m ) and much of it Down Stream Acess ( S ) and don't forget to remind your nephew "Work hard at school and you won't end up as a postman" :Very Happy
