Walk sequencing payments

Hi all
Just wanted to know if any mail centre has triggered the 100% payment yet?
As our mail centre has been told it has reached the target
But royal mail are refusing to payout,they are only paying out the £400 this week,we triggered the first payment as soon as the agreement was agreed so it's taken them since April to pay this out,we have passed this problem up to HQ so fingers crossed we may hear something this week, wot I need to know is there any mail centres actually received the full £1000 our mail centre is based in the north east which is going through the mail centre rationalisation process at the moment so u could say it would cheer people up if we got it soon, I will look forward to ur replies

Are all the DOs in the area covered by your MC getting sequenced mail? I think to trigger the payment for 100% all DOs covered by the MC need to have all their mail sequenced (whether it is by the MC or another DO in the area).

Yes all do's receive W/S mail from us

Is it walk sequenced,or walk sorted?BIG difference,as we have found out to our cost!We could sequence at least 50% of our mail,but local management choose to walksort til after christmas,so not even the £400......

Now this will be unusual but I am going to stick up for management. Your MC may well indeed be able to Walk Sequence Mail however, the DOs receiving it may not yet be set up for it, and this will be the reason why your Management are not going full steam with it.

The impact of Walk Sequencing on an MC appears to me quite limited whereas at a DO the change, while not earth shattering is certainly a Major one.

For instance:

1. The work plan will have to change.
2. Duty times may be staggered.
3. Duties will be affected by the savings brought about by WSqM and most if not all routes will be changed.
4. A repick will occur.
5. There is likely to be a reduction in headcount in most DOs when WSqM start.

Sorry if that does not help but it will give you an idea of why they are slow at starting WSq

TBT...to be fair none of those changes have to happen immediately.
We have had Walk Sequenced mail for almost a year now and the only real change until our revision(sometime soon..ish ) has been the arrival times as the sequenced generally arrives later than the walk-sorted.
What it will cause if you don't have a revision with it is an increase in absorption though.
I really can't see why a D.O. manager would be knocking back sequenced in favour of walk-sort.

When I say Hull MC srry I meant processing , delivery function different bonus scheme
