Mail centre shift managers £18k bonus

Post by norwichchris »

It's come to my attention that the early shift manager in the mail centre where I work has just been given an £18k bonus! What an utter disgrace when all we get is a risable bloody £400. If he's getting this bonus you can bet the rest of them are. I'm guessing they're being "rewarded" for cutting out loads of hours, and in this managers case implementing World Class Mail. What with this and the looming sell off later in the year, when are we all going to grow a backbone and walk out?!!

I was under the impression that the max bonus managers could get is 10% of their salary,is he on £180,000 a year then?
Think there's a wind up going on.

Nobody will be getting their maximum bonus anyway since something like six out of nine quality of service targets were missed!

About a year ago where I work, every shift manager received a minimum £5000 bonus. The CWU even put a notice on the union board pointing this out, much to the fury of the managers who wanted it kept quiet! Be under no illusion, huge bonuses are still being paid to these scumbags while we're the mugs actually doing the work!

The problem with the bonus structure is the reality that managers think of that and nothing else. As for the staff, we have become nothing more than bit-part players, just helping them to line their pockets. It begs the question, do these managers justify such payments? Of course not. They do precious little except swan around in the self centred world they feel so comfortable in.

As for the World Class project, it is nothing more than a shroddy gimmick with the pillar-leads, useless managers who have failed the Royal Mail more times than not.

The way RM are implimenting it, I agree. But if they'd bother to do it properly, it'd be a great system. It's just a shame that they seem intent on abusing it, to cut staff, and protect the Manager's jobs! :evil/mad :arrrghhh

I might be wrong, but i thought senior managers were salaried and didn't get paid overtime but got lieu days instead?
