Rumours that an announcement Saturday at all local offices regarding major change, Watford Processing to Hemel Hempstead and then all local delivery offices merging into Watford Mail Centre with obvious savings in closing/selling.ending leases, etc plus a centralised flexible workforce able to work /deliver anywhere in this area, besides Bushey, Rickmansworth, etc it may reach out to Pinner/Northwood, etc

Our driver from Doncaster said there was a urgent meeting called in Doncaster mail centre at 9:30 this morning and no delivery staff were allowed to leave before it. Our office PHG said there was a emergency conference call planned today to. Something must be happening somewhere!!

Most Divisonal Reps had a meeting with the regional processing managers who informed them of the new mail centres reviews in South East , North East , Anglia , South Central and London.

A Lot of of mail centre reviews are now under way.

all WD dely offices to close and move to Watford. Processing to Hemel, meeting on floor tomorrow 0700 to confirm. rumour that pinner and northwood to be moved to watford as well but can not confirm at moment.

no compulsory redundancies? A better local postal service? Royal Mail cut to the bone despite being profitable, maybe l am a bit dim but cannot see these measures improving our postal service, perhaps managers will realise that these decision will certainly reduce their ranks considerably and be a bit more understanding towards staff they supervise.

Just had our brief,i am c & n driver at Watford,it would appear that Royal Mail are going for super mail centers.The mail centers are the obivous ones,Watford,Stevenage will be be swallowed up by a new one in Hemel,26 d/o's were read out and are subject to review ,as to what this means exactly is a mystery,the existing mail center at Watford could well become a super d/o as its not far from Northwood,Pinner which were both mentioned,Rickmansworth is likley to move in to Watford as is Bushey,Boremwood,Radlett,Aylesbury,Berkhamstead were also mentioned,i've asked for a copy of the brief and was told we were due a letter from RM & CWU within the next few days giving us the info contained in the brief.

Its a 6 month joint consultation involving RM and the union with us the workforce being kept updated on a regular basis,any questions asked should have feedback within 3 days(was that a pig just flew past my window)

We've been told that the review of London's 3 MCs has started. No more info than that,
but plenty of rumours as usual. When will they actually tell us what is being planned?
