WORLD CLASS FAIL!

Please can someone explain to me what exactly this world class mail issue is about, and why the CWU has instructed its members not to have anything to do with it? At Norwich mail centre there are at least six managers planning it even though there is no agreement at all on this issue. It seems to me like the same old story of Royal Mail steamrolling ahead with changes they want to make, regardless of agreements or otherwise!

At Bristol Mail Centre spare managers spent a lot of time producing posters about the pillar principles of world class mails and lists of Japanese translations for improving performance speak, this was accompanied by photos of every manager going with a voice bubble coming out of their mouths saying WCMs is great. Load of stuff about what the engineers will have to do to improve the machines. Seems to me that most of it does concern the engineers who will end up getting pushed the most. At the moment the engineers managers are working on the machines to make them run faster as the engineers have no time to do it. One bloke was made up to acting manager to bring it in but as few postmen are taking part it seems as if the project is running but with nothing actually happening as the cwu has said dont take part. WCM has been tried in other parts of the building. In the warehouse it involved putting up a sign about safety and making a video. On the flats machine a whole week was spent designing a project and then just telling people to put thicker flats through the FSM. Now packets are doing a survey for the second time. Unless there is more to be revealed WCM looks like getting the staff to have a week off on different hours in a side room, coming up with some improvement ideas and then having a few tours around the floor with a clip board. As with the machine upgrades, extensions and increases/decreases and the royal mail way project, the end result will be no change.

Hay Baldrick, I speak as I find and honestly WCM is nothing new. In the commecial world this is how manufacturing works but as RM is out of the ark then everyone is looking at it as 'saving the world'. RM dictators oops, I mean directors have no idea as to be fair they have only worked at RM infact I think they were born in a mail bag.
